Oil heating with 6 kV – 160 °C industrial application

An industrial factory in need of hot oil for drying insulating varnish in transformers faced a challenge: The factory was located in a rural area without a natural gas pipeline and therefore only had the option of electric heating.

The problem:

Traditional electric heating with peak load tariffs was expensive and inefficient.

The solution:
The manufacturer invested in two sets of 8 MW systems that could regulate and store electricity, so that heating could be done at a third of the price.

Stable heating at 160 °C
Big savings on operating costs
Investment earned in less than 2 years
